SUMMARY:In My Feelings Art Show
DESCRIPTION:Brittany Sugg & Sara Larkins are two passionate teachers who want to bring awareness to our Fishers Elementary School students about ways to reduce stress and cope with their feelings. \nWe want all students to know that is okay to feel a certain type of emotion and explore all of the positive/healthy ways to handle their feelings and emotions. We want to bring AWARENESS to mental health to our school as well as community. \nOur goal is for our classes to participate in a service learning project by hosting art show to encourage students to show WHAT THEY LOVE AND HELP THEM RELIEVE STRESS. The money we make at the Art Show will be donated to the the Peyton Riekhof Foundation for Youth Hope. \nWe would like to kick off our art show fundraiser by having Mike Riekhof (Peyton Riekhof’s Father) to come in for an assembly and talk to the kids about managing their feelings (using Inside Out Characters). Unfortunately\, Mike’s daughter\, Peyton lost her battle with depression at the early age of 18 on July 18th\, 2013. And he wants to share Peyton’s story with the youth in raising awareness for mental health.

SUMMARY:Understanding the Hearts\, Habits & Hang-ups of Teens
DESCRIPTION:As parents we strive to understand our children but teenagers are so difficult to understand sometimes. How do we know if their habits are healthy? How do we help them overcome their hang-ups? Join us for an open conversation to gain support and work together to better understand our teenagers and how to be the best parents we can be for them. All are welcome and refreshments are provided to those that register.  CLICK HERE to register.
